Ormiston Forge is an academy in Cradley Heath in the West Midlands
The school was looking for a way to implement a stable rewards system across the school and, in particular, find an innovative way of helping and monitoring the success and progress of their Pupil Premium students.
Claire Bennet Business Studies teacher and Reward/House Coordinator at Ormiston had this to say:
"We now have a whole school approach to motivation and rewards which is consistent across subjects and is really easy to manage. We have special department weeks where they give double points. This is something that I can easily manage on the system, but if there are any issues the support from the team is great as all emails are answered straight away.
I would recommend Carrot Rewards to other teachers as you really can personalise it to the needs of your individual school. We are even working with primary liaison so that any year 6 coming to us in year 7 use and understand the sticker system before getting here."
The system has also been a factor in enabling the school to achieve it's goals in regards to Pupil Premium. Vice Principal, Mr Weale states:
"Carrot Rewards is helping us to meet our Pupils Premium objectives. The evidence to date is that Pupil Premium supports youngsters (without them knowing they are indicated as PP) with regards to overall attainment, progress, attendance as well as participation in the wider aspects of Academy life. Carrot Rewards helps us to monitor this, and in many ways, it supports the 'closing gaps' agenda."
